Anna Cordero

Anna “Sui Lan” Kahakulani Cordero, 85, of Hilo, died March 7 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born July 26, 1935, in Kalapana, she was a pastor and one of the founders of the Gospel of Alpha and Omega Church in Hawaii, and worked at various Hilo businesses.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. March 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial at noon at Alae Cemetery. Family requests casual attire.

She is survived by daughter, Sanvelyn (Ronald) Matsuo of Hilo; sons, Anson Cordero and James (Haunani Medeiros) Cordero of Hilo; brothers, Peter Lee and Harry (Malisa) Lee of Hilo; sister, Gladys Lee of Hilo; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and great-grand-nieces.

Michael Suber

Michael “Mike” Andrew Suber Sr., 65, of Captain Cook died February 20 at Kona community Hospital. Born in Washington D.C. on Jan. 4, 1956, he was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.

A 10 a.m. mass will be held on April 24, 2021 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona. Casual attire and no flowers. He is survived by his daughter, Loreal (Samiu) Faleofa of Kailua-Kona; son, Michael Suber Jr. of Kealakekua; brother, Bobby Suber of Mililani; five grandchildren.

Yasuo Fukumitsu

Yasuo “Yasu” Fukumitsu, 92, of Kailua-Kona died March 7 at his residence. Born in Lanihau on July 24, 1928, he was a retired customer service agent for the former Aloha Airlines, a member of the Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, and an avid fisherman.

Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests please no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).

He is survived by his wife, Edna Fukumitsu of Kailua-Kona; sons, Kelvin Fukumitsu of Honolulu and Jason (Heather) Fukumitsu of Simi Valley, CA.; daughter, Laurie (Scott Ono) Fukumitsu of Mililani; brothers, Kenji (Flora) Fukumitsu of Keopu and Isowo (Joanna) Fukumitsu of Pearl City; several nieces and nephews.

Richard Harrison

Richard Cormack Harrison, 76, of Captain Cook died March 3 at his residence. Born in DeKalb, Ill. on March 15, 1944, he was a self-employed electrical engineer and a member of the Rotary Club of Kona Mauka.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Harrison of Captain Cook; son, Benjamin Harrison of Volcano; brother, Robert (Cathy) Cormack of Grand Junction, CO.

Stephen Perreira Jr.

Stephen Anthony Perreira Jr., 76, of Kailua-Kona died March 9, 2021, in Kailua-Kona. He was born March 1, 1945, in Hilo and was owner of Buddy’s Sheet Metal.

He is survived by spouse Marilyn; sons Stephen A. (Lisa) Perreira III of Las Vegas, NV; Mark (Rebeca) Hotta of Waipio, Oahu; Michael (Roberta) Hotta of Waipio, Oahu; daughters Melony (David) NeSmith of La’ie, Oahu; Michelle (Pita) Mohetau of Arkansas; brother Robert Perreira of Hilo; sisters Myrna (Walter) Leite of Hilo; Stephanie Anderson of Hilo; Bernadette (Manuel) Amar of Hilo; 13 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Emily Wilbur

Emily Becky Wilbur, 87, of Hilo, died Feb. 20 at home. She was born in Honolulu and was a retired real estate agent with Ariki Associates.

Preceded in death by son, Zane Pila, and survived by husband, Stanley E. Kazuko Nohara

Kazuko Nohara, 95, of Hilo and Kapolei died on Feb. 16. Born in Hakalau, HI she was a cafeteria manager for several schools. Private inurnment service to be held at a later date.

Norma Felipe

Norma Odasco Felipe, 79, of Pepeekeo, died March 9, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Dec. 24, 1941 in Mangumit, Canlubang, Laguna, Philippines she worked for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company. She also was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou, and Hawaii and Pepeekeo Senior Citizen.

Friends may call March 26 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Face masks and social distancing required. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section).

Sheridan Howard Kobayashi, 75, of Hilo died on Mar. 5 in Keaau. Born in Hilo, he was employed for the State of Hawaii, Department of Agriculture.
